Backups

I previously submitted a feature request for Versioning, but I’m also wondering about backing up in general. Yesterday, I lost an entire mind map because I accidentally deleted the root node. With Versioning or even with a node trash bin, I’d be able to recover this, but what happens if my computer is destroyed? Since MagicalPad is a sandboxed application, I’m not sure where the data is stored or how to back it up.

I realize iCloud is not usable for syncing, but how about combining Versioning with automatic backups to iCloud? For backup purposes, iCloud would be preferable to Dropbox because it’s built-in to the OS and doesn’t require the user to install a third party application. For an essential function like backup, you shouldn’t require your users to install Dropbox, it should just work.

In the meantime, I’d like to setup my own backup using third party software to periodically copy my data to an iCloud folder. Can you provide some guidance on where the data is located and which files need to be copied?

    Hi Brad,

Trash or recycle bin is the highest request on our enhancement list and will be in the next release. At the page level and at the notebook level.
