It often makes sense for a topic to appear in multiple locations within a mind map. Currently, you can sort of accomplish this using Internal Linking, but it would be much more elegant if you could create a clone of a topic.
The clone would be alias to the original topic and would be identical to it. If you edit any of the properties of the clone, those edits would immediately be reflected in the original topic, since they would actually be the same object.
Internal linking would still serve a purpose, but links would mostly be used for linking to other topics from within notes. In the current implementation, linking creates a pseudo-cloned topic, which links back to the original topic, but is actually an independent topic and does not share its properties with the original topic.
This is an interesting concept. We are working on adding Linked files instead of copying a version of the file attachment to the content folder. I think that would be a good time to entertain this idea. I wish we have more community members to chime in.
